The Great Salt Lake

Though I didn't actually go to the Great Salt Lake, I had a blast experiencing other parts of Salt Lake City, Utah the end of March.  I met college friend, Rachael Wussow (in from San Fran), at the airport where the splendid Leigh Jones picked us up.  Leigh and I go way back to Northwest High and she was also a dear friend and duplex-mate in Raleigh.  She's now working on her Masters in Meteorology, with a minor in extreme outdoor sports.  In 5 short days we went mountain biking, sledding, cross country skiing/skinning, hiking, and trail running.....not to mention a wedding, benefit banquet, shopping, Mormon-spotting, city light gazing, Skiers and Snow Boarders for Christ (SFC) weekly hangout and prayer, as well as cooking up a lot of great food.  Leigh lives in a truly breathtaking place, no matter where you are you just look up and BAM, a snowcapped mountain is staring back.  Love love love her roommate Jill and other friends.  I highly recommend anyone visit, for the view and the sports.  I'm thinking I'd love to visit in the summer for the rock climbing, warmer mountain biking, hiking side of things.....and I know there will be a great group of folks ready to welcome me.
